Jack F. Banzer, aged 25, was born on May 9, 1919. He served in the 4th Combat Cargo Group as a First Lieutenant and Pilot of an aircraft during World War II. Jack died on January 22, 1945 and is now buried in the Mount Calvary Cemetery, Portland, Multnomah County, Oregon, USA. He was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
