Donald A. Bondurant was born on May 27, 1922. He was the son of Arthur W. Bondurant and Florence E. Bondurant. Donald served in the 1st Combat Cargo Squadron as a First Lieutenant during World War II. He died on August 11, 1945 at the age of 23 and is now buried in the Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota, USA. He was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
