Ernest Carl Cassetty, aged 23, was born on July 5, 1920. He was the son of Henry L. Cassetty and Nina Cassetty. He served in the 341st Bombardment Group as a Staff Sergeant. Ernest died on April 8, 1944 and is now buried in the Round Hill Cemetery, Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana, USA. He was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China but death date is inscribed as 1944-03-08.
