Virgil Cason, aged 22, was born on August 10, 1922. He served in the 3847th Quartermaster Truck Company as a Private. Virgil died on March 20, 1945 and is now buried in the Hopewell Cemetery, Hanceville, Cullman County, Alabama, USA. He was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China but his name is inscribed as Virgle Casson.
