Lex C. Crocker was born on June 18, 1921. He was the son of Crawford R. Crocker and Minnie W. Crocker. He served in the 11th Combat Cargo Squadron, 3rd Combat Cargo Group as a Second Lieutenant and Co-Pilot of an aircraft during World War II. Lex died on May 22, 1945 at the age of 23 and is now buried in the Forest Hill Cemetery, Birmingham, Jefferson County, Alabama, USA. He was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
