Aaron S. Cummings was born on May 31, 1916. He served in the 491st Bombardment Squadron, 341st Bombardment Group, Medium as a Second Lieutenant. He was Killed in Action on September 5, 1944 at the age of 28 and is now buried in the Temple Sons of Israel Cemetery, Sydney, Cape Breton County, Nova Scotia, Canada. Aaron served as an aviator in WWII and was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
