Henry Leroy Gollong, Jr. was born in 1915 in California. He was the son of Henry Leroy Gollong and Nannette Gollong. He served in the Air Corps as a Captain and Pilot of an aircraft during World War II. CPT Gollong died on February 5, 1945 in China and is now buried in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park (Glendale), Glendale, Los Angeles County, California, USA. He was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
