Felix Grochocki was born on June 24, 1918. He resided in New York prior to the war. Felix served as a Staff Sergeant and Gunner on B-24D #42-40930, 425th Bomber Squadron, 308th Bomber Group, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II. Felix was "Killed In Action" when his B-24 was shot down and crashed near Hankow, China during the war. He was originally interred in Schofield Barracks Mausoleum #2, Hawaii and was later interred at National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu, Honolulu County, Hawaii on November 17, 1949.

Felix was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China but his surname is inscribed as Grochoki.
