Russel R. Harrison was born on December 3, 1911. He served in the Station 9, Air Transport Command as a Corporal and Radio Operator during World War II. Russell was killed in a plane crash in India on January 11, 1944 at the age of 32. He was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
