Roy Alton Jones was born on July 4, 1921. He served in the 11th Bomber Squadron, 341st Bomber Group, Medium as a Staff Sergeant and Radar operator/Gunner of an aircraft during World War II. Roy died on November 23, 1944 at the age of 23 and is now buried in the Mount Zion Cemetery, Doddridge, Miller County, Arkansas, USA. He was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
