William Perry Jones was born on May 25, 1922 in Chadron, Dawes County, Nebraska. He served in the 51st Fighter Group as a Second Lieutenant during World War II. William died on May 6, 1944 at the age of 21 and is now buried in the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu, Honolulu County, Hawaii, USA. He was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945.
