William P. Kieffer was born on February 10, 1924. He served in the 3rd Combat Squadron as a Second Lieutenant and Co-Pilot of an aircraft during World War II. William died on September 19, 1944 at the age of 20 and is now buried in the Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota, USA. He was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
