Marlin R. Lawton was born on August 18, 1922. He served in the 1328th Army Air Force Base Unit as a Corporal and Radio Operator of an aircraft during World War II. Marlin died on August 19, 1944 at the age of 22 and is now buried in the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas, USA. He was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
