Born 8 October 1911 by Chicago to Della Rahn and John J. Leahy. He went by the name of "Bill" after his favorite silent screen cowboy, William S. Hart. Married Helen Erzberger. Radio operator of the B-24 Liberator “Sunon Square Dance” , serial number 42-95280, which took off from Tibenham in the UK to bomb the south of Creil, France. It was shot down by flak at 1917. Killed in the crash along with 3 other crewmembers. Four crewmembers escaped and two were taken prisoner.
