Robert G. Menier was born on July 25, 1920. He served in the 27th Troop Carrier Squadron as a Sergeant and Radio Operator of an aircraft during World War II. Robert died on February 7, 1945 at the age of 24 and is now buried in the Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota, USA. He was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
