Hogan D. Moses was born on November 27, 1917 in Marion County, Alabama. He was the son of William Samuel Moses and Mary Adeline Burleson Moses. He served in the 322nd Troop Carrier Squadron as a Second Lieutenant and Pilot of an aircraft during World War II. Hagan died in a non-battle incident on February 25, 1945 at the age of 27 and is now buried in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Marion County, Alabama, USA. He was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
