John A. Myers, Jr. was born on October 14, 1920. He was the son of John and Margaret Howe Myers. He served in the 25th Bombardment Squadron, 40th Bombardment Group as a Sergeant during World War II. John died on November 11, 1944 at the age of 24 and is now buried in the Holy Cross Cemetery, Lackawanna, Erie County, New York, USA. He was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
