Edwin J. Olsen entered the military service in Massachusetts. He served in the 1332nd Army Air Force Base Unit as a Second Lieutenant and Pilot of a C-46 aircraft during World War II. He was declared "Missing in Action" on February 8, 1945 over China and is commemorated on the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines. 2Lt Olsen was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945.
