Mason Gay was born on July 4, 1894. He was the son of James Steven Gay and Lucy Gay Atkerson. He served in the 147th Transportation Corps Company as a Sergeant during World War I. Sgt Gay died on May 21, 1919 at the age of 24 and is now buried in the Maxwell Cemetery, Flat Rock, Jackson County, Alabama, USA.
