Wilton L. McDonald was born on October 3, 1886 in Wheatland, Yuba County, California. Before entering the service he was a teacher at Sawyers Bar, Siskiyou County. He enlisted and was sent to Fort McDowell and laterto Jacksonville, Florida. He sailed for France on August 6, 1918. He was a Sergeant in the Quartermaster Service — Wagon Company 304. Wilton died of pneumonia in France on December 12, 1918 at the age of 32 and is now buried in the Wheatland Cemetery, Wheatland, Yuba County, California, USA.
