Tauno H. Aro was born in 1918 in Wisconsin. He was the son of Hjalmer Aro and Emilia Amanda Aro. He had been in the Army for three years and had been overseas for one year. He served in the 8th Tank Battalion, 4th Armored Division as a Corporal during World War II. He was Killed in Action on December 6, 1944 by a German tank and is now buried in the Lorraine American Cemetery, Saint-Avold, France.
