Warren E. Thieman was born on September 4, 1920 in Dade County, Missouri. He was the son of Otto Henry Thieman and Oma Mary Thieman. He served in the 678th Bombardment Squadron as a Master Sergeant and Gunner of an aircraft during World War II. He died on June 26, 1944 at the age of 23 and is now buried in the Lockwood Cemetery, Lockwood, Dade County, Missouri, USA. Msgt Thieman was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
