Kenneth C. Thomas was born on July 11, 1917. He resided in Knox County, Maine prior to the war. He enlisted in the Army on June 26, 1942 in Portland, Maine. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a Carpenter and also as Single, without dependents. Kenneth served as a Sergeant, 1327th Air Base Unit, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II. He died in the "Line Of Duty" of a non-battle related incident during the war. Sgt Thomas was originally interred in the Mausoleum #2, Schofield Barracks and was later interred in the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu, Honolulu County, Hawaii, USA on January 10, 1949.

Sgt Thomas was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
