Charles W. Fulks was born on April 29, 1924. He served in the 24th Combat Mapping Squadron, 8th Photographic Group as a Sergeant and arm gunner of an aircraft during World War II. He died on October 29, 1944 at the age of 20 and is now buried in the Highland Cemetery, Ottawa, Franklin County, Kansas, USA. Sgt Fulks was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
