Daniel Robert Junk was born in Hempstead, New York in 1897. He enlisted in the service shortly after the outbreak of hostilities. Daniel served in the 321st Quartermaster Supply Company and was at work supplying the troops on the firing line. Pfc Junk died on October 9, 1918 in France, from a broncho-pneumonia and is now buried in the St. Mihiel American Cemetery, Thiaucourt, France. He also has a cenotaph located in Greenfield Cemetery, Uniondale, Nassau County, New York.
