Paul F. Heck was born in 1917 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Paul and Violet Heck of Camden, New Jersey. He served in the 3rd Squadron, 1st Ferry Group as a First Lieutenant and Co-Pilot of an aircraft during World War II. Paul was Missing In Action aboard U.S. Army Air Corps C-87 Liberator Express #41-23669, while on a cargo flight from Yangkai, China to Chabua, India. His name is commemorated on the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines.
1Lt Heck was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is also commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
