Richard C. Lovell was born on February 3, 1922. He served in the 11th Bomber Squadron, 341st Bomber Group, Medium as a Sergeant during World War II. He died on September 7, 1944 at the age of 22 and is now buried in the East Springfield United Methodist Cemetery, Lagrange, Lagrange County, Indiana, USA. Sgt Lovell was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
