Leslie F. Myers was born on January 29, 1916 in Rankin County, Mississippi. He was the son of James Caswell Myers and Lula Wilson Myers. He served in the 16th Fighter Squadron as a First Lieutenant and during World War II. He died on January 12, 1943 in China at the age of 26 and is now buried in the Bethel Cemetery, Brandon, Rankin County, Mississippi, USA. 1Lt Myers was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
