Edward D. Quong was born on December 1, 1923. He served in the Signal Corps as a Private First Class during World War II. He died on April 16, 1945 at the age of 21. His remains were returned from Barrakpore, India, and interred at Golden Gate National Cemetery on 18 June 1948. PFC Quong was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
