Hollis D. Sneed was born on January 15, 1917. He served in the US Air Corps as a Second Lieutenant during World War II. He was killed in the crash of B-24 42-73502 "Belle of the Brawl" in China on July 8, 1944 and is now buried in the Llano Cemetery, Amarillo, Randall County, Texas, USA. 2Lt Sneed was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
