Clare Eric Weybright was born on February 10, 1910 in Lee County, Illinois. He was the son of Charles Edward Weybright and Mary Luna George Weybright. He served in the 24th Combat Mapping Squadron, 8th Photo Reconnaissance as a Sergeant and Engineer/Gunner of an aircraft during World War II. He was Killed in Action on October 29, 1944 in an airplane crash in Sichuan, China at the age of 34 and is now buried in the Ashton Cemetery, Ashton, Lee County, Illinois, USA.
Sgt Weybright was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
