Eugene Morton Creagh was born in 1917 in Norwalk, Fairfield County, Connecticut. He attended high school for two years and worked in an automobile factory. He joined the Air Corps of the U.S. Army Reserve in Hartford, Connecticut on 22 July 1942. Eugene was the Pilot of 42-107085 "Little Chum" aircraft assigned to 562nd Bomber Squadron, 388th Bomber Group, Heavy during World War II.

Their airplane was hit by flak over the target and dropped behind the formation with its left wing on fire, losing altitude rapidly. The plane was then attacked by enemy fighters. The entire crew, exept Lt Creagh was able to bail out before the airplane exploded. He is now buried in the Ardennes American Cemetery, Neupré, Belgium. 1Lt Creagh was one of the many brave Americans of the 388th Bomber Group who lost their lives in aerial operations against the German forces from June 1943 - August 1945.
