Harry Theodore Ameredes was born on October 31, 1921 in Canton, Stark County, Ohio. He served as a Technician 5th Grade during World War II. He was one of the Greek-American volunteers who served in Company C, 2671 Special Reconnaissance Battalion, an OSS operational group. This "Greek Battalion" aided the Greek armed resistance in 1944 in their fight against the occupying and then withdrawing German Army. Harry died on March 16, 2012 in Weirton, West Virginia at the age of 90 and is now buried in the Chapel Hill Cemetery, Weirton, Hancock County, West Virginia, USA.
