Frank Thomas Blanas was born on September 26, 1919 in Wisconsin. He was one of the Greek-American volunteers who served in Company C, 2671 Special Reconnaissance Battalion, an OSS operational group. This "Greek Battalion" aided the Greek armed resistance in 1944 in their fight against the occupying and then withdrawing German Army. Frank died in April 1982 at the age of 62 in Denver, Colorado and is now buried in the Fairmount Cemetery, Denver, Denver County, Colorado, USA. His rank in Colonel on his headstone.
