Andrew Gus Grevis was born on September 9, 1924, in Copperhill, Tennesse. He was the son of Konstantinos 'Gus' and Elaine (Morris) Grevis.
During World War II, he served in Company C, 2671 Special Reconnaissance Battalion, an OSS operational group. This "Greek Battalion" aided the Greek armed resistance in 1944 in their fight against the occupying and then withdrawing German Army.
Andrew had served under General William J. Wild Bill" Donovan and was later a personal bodyguard to General Dwight D. Eisenhower.
He was also a businessman and a security guard at the Toledo Museum of Art.
After a long illness, Andy died on October 15, 1998, at the Veterans Memorial Medical Center in Ann Harbor, Michigan. He is now buried in the Toledo Memorial Park, Ohio.
