Demetrios G. Kamvouris was born on March 25, 1922, in Palia, Passara, Greece. He was inducted into the service on April 16, 1943. He served as a Technician 5th Grade during World War II.

Demetrious was a volunteer with ties to Greece who assisted the OSS Greek Operational group in 1944 as they aided the Greek armed resistance in their fight against the occupying and then withdrawing German Army. T5 Kamvouris was honorable discharged on October 30, 1945.
