Perecles Peter “Perry” Phillips was born on December 6, 1923 in Oklahoma. He was the son of Peter Pericles Phillips and Effie Prayson Phillips. Perecles enlisted in the Army on March 28, 1943 is now buried in the California. He was one of the Greek-American volunteers who served in Company C, 2671 Special Reconnaissance Battalion, an OSS operational group. This "Greek Battalion" aided the Greek armed resistance in 1944 in their fight against the occupying and then withdrawing German Army. Cpl Phillips died in May 1991 at the age of 67 in Alamo, California and is now buried in the Alamo Cemetery, Alamo, Contra Costa County, California, USA.
