Sam C. Poulos was born on June 2, 1923. He enlisted in the Army on February 8, 1943 in Iowa. Sam was one of the Greek-American volunteers who served in Company C, 2671 Special Reconnaissance Battalion, an OSS operational group. This "Greek Battalion" aided the Greek armed resistance in 1944 in their fight against the occupying and then withdrawing German Army. He died on December 3, 2008 at the age of 85 and is now buried in the Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City, Cerro Gordo County, Iowa, USA.
