Anthony G. Sampatacacus was born on September 13, 1924. He was one of the Greek-American volunteers who served in Company C, 2671 Special Reconnaissance Battalion, an OSS operational group. This "Greek Battalion" aided the Greek armed resistance in 1944 in their fight against the occupying and then withdrawing German Army. Anthony died on December 8, 1999 at the age of 75 and is now buried in the Westlawn Cemetery, Lowell, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, USA.
