Bruley Monroe Cooper was born in 1892 in Colleton County, South Carolina. He immediately volunteered when war was declared between Germany and the United States. He was sent to Camp Jackson as a lineman in the signal corps, where he remained until about six months ago, when he went to France. Before leaving Camp Jackson, he was promoted to Corporal. Bruley died in France November 19, of lobar pneumonia, in the 26th year of his age. He is now buried in the Live Oak Cemetery, Walterboro, Colleton County, South Carolina, USA. His rank is Private on his headstone.
