Joe Roy Alexander was born on November 11, 1925. He was the son of Roy Lee Alexander and Myrtle Dean Graham Alexander. Joe served in the 503rd Parachute Infantry Regiment as a Private during World War II. He died on February 24, 1945 at the age of 19 during the battle for the recapture of Corregidor, Philippines against the defending Japanese garrison on the island and is now buried in the Temple Masonic Cemetery, Temple, Cotton County, Oklahoma, USA.
