Emory N. Ball entered the military service in Utah. He served in the 503rd Parachute Infantry Regiment as a Second Lieutenant during World War II. He was declared "Missing in Action" on April 23, 1945 and is commemorated on the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines. 2LT Ball was one of the American paratroopers who fought successfully on Battle for the Recapture of Corregidor, Philippines against the defending Japanese garrison in February 1945.
