James Duane Daubard was born on November 30, 1924. He was the son of James Edward Daubard and Winifred E. Cook Daubard. James served in the 503rd Parachute Infantry Regiment as a Private during World War II. He was Killed in Action on February 16, 1945 at the age of 20 during the battle for the recapture of Corregidor, Philippines against the defending Japanese garrison on the island and is now buried in the Pleasant Plains Cemetery, Pleasant Plains, Sangamon County, Illinois, USA.
