Glenn E. Handlon was born in 1923 in Michigan. He was the son of James H. Handlon and Gladys E. Bassett Handlon. He enlisted in the Army on October 6, 1942. At the time of enlistment, Glenn was single, stood 67 inches tall, weighed 159 pounds and had completed 4 years of High School. He was working as a Stock Clerk. Glenn was a member of 1st Platoon, F Company, of the 503rd Parachute Infantry Regiment. Glenn was killed by Japanese machine gun fire near Battery Wheeler during the retaking of Corregidor, Philippines. He is now buried in the Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines.
