Robert W. Jones was born on August 23, 1925. He was the son of George D. Jones and Alice Nelson Hawkins. Jones served in the 503rd Parachute Infantry Regiment as a Private during World War II. He died on February 26, 1945 at the age of 19, during the battle for the recapture of Corregidor, Philippines against the defending Japanese garrison on the island and is now buried in the Highland Cemetery, South Bend, St. Joseph County, Indiana, USA.
