Lester Ralph Pinter was born on January 6, 1921 in Bureau County, Illinois. He was the son of Gustav Herman Pinter and Katherine Leyes Pinter. Lester served in the 503rd Parachute Infantry Regiment as a Technician 5th Grade during World War II. He died on February 26, 1945 at the age of 24, during the battle for the recapture of Corregidor, Philippines against the defending Japanese garrison on the island and is now buried in the Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines.
