Paul William Saul was born on February 7, 1923. He was the son of William Taswell Saul and Flora Jane Macy Saul. Paul served in the 503rd Parachute Infantry Regiment as a Private First Class during World War II. He died on February 26, 1945 at the age of 22, during the battle for the recapture of Corregidor, Philippines against the defending Japanese garrison on the island and is now buried in the Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines. He also has a cenotaph located in Fletcher Cemetery, Fletcher, Miami County, Ohio.
