James S. Segobia was born in 1918 in California. He was the son of Henry Segobia and Rose Sanchez Segobia. He resided in Kern County, California prior to the war. He enlisted in the Army on July 8, 1941, prior to the war, in Los Angeles, California. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being Single, without dependents. James served as a Private First Class, Company E, 503rd Parachute Infantry, U.S. Army during World War II. He was Killed in Action on February 18, 1945 during the battle for the recapture of Corregidor, Philippines against the defending Japanese garrison on the island and is now buried in the Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines.
