Eugene Francis Darter was born on January 3, 1913 in Losa Angeles, Califronia. He was the son of Francis Michael Darter and Estelle Mary Oster Darter. He served in the US Army Air Forces as a Staff Sergeant during World War II. He was declared Missing in Action on December 16, 1943 at the age of 30 and is memorialized at the Tablets of the Missing, Cambridge American Cemetery, Cambridge, United Kingdom. He also has a cenotaph located in Salem City Cemetery, Salem, Utah County, Utah.
