Peter B. Malchiodi was born in 1912. He resided in Middlesex County, Connecticut prior to the war. He enlisted in the Army on April 29, 1942 in Hartford, Connecticut. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a Hotel and/or restaurant manager and also as Single, without dependents. Peter served as a Technical Sergeant and Engineer on B-17F (#42-30126), 416th Bomber Squadron, 99th Bomber Group, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

Peter was "Killed In Action" when his B-17F was attacked and shot down by enemy aircraft fire over Switzerland. He was temporarily buried He was temporarily buried in what was then the American Cemetery in Münsingen, Switzerland. He is now buried in the Epinal American Cemetery, Dinozé, France.
